Bridgeport, CT

Junior Achievement, a local non-profit organization, is helping regional employers build their future workforce by showing young people exciting career opportunities.

Junior Achievement of Greater Fairfield County today announced JA Inspire Virtual 2022, an online workforce development initiative, giving local middle and high school students the opportunity to learn about local high-growth, high-demand jobs.

JA Inspire Virtual launches on February 7 offering students, educators, parents, and jobseekers unlimited access to the platform through August 7. Participants explore virtual company booths, hear from industry professionals, and engage with guest speakers and panelists on careers and industries.

Students from more than 50 schools and community organizations participated in 2021.

This year, JA is providing expanded opportunities to engage directly with professionals, highlighting specific industries each month.

“We are thrilled to bring JA Inspire Virtual to our students for a second year”, said Bernadine Venditto, President of Junior Achievement of Greater Fairfield County. “It is a proven effective way for young people can start planning for future success in their careers.”

“With shortages of qualified workers in so many industries, this is our way of answering the urgent call, from educators, businesses, and elected officials for workforce development resources,” Venditto said. “By highlighting attractive career opportunities early in their education, we are helping to guide young people onto an exciting path to long-term success.”

“JA’s Inspire program provides an excellent opportunity for both students and corporations,” said Cosmo Alberico, President and Chief Operating Officer at Odyssey Logistics & Technology. “Businesses can engage with local students, and start to build their next generation of skilled employees.”

Odyssey Logistics & Technology is the Presenting Sponsor for JA Inspire Virtual for the second time. Additional top sponsors include Webster Bank, Santa Energy, Aquarion Water Company, and KPMG. More information is at https://jagfc.org/event/ja-inspire-virtual-2022/.
