Vinal Technical High School, Precision Machining Technology

Brief Description
Students enrolled in the CTECS Precision Machining Technology program are given instruction in and demonstrate skills and knowledge in machine safety, measuring tools, precision machining fundamentals using; manual milling machines, lathes, and other metal processing machines. Students progress using computer numerical controlled (CNC) machining and turning centers as early as the 10th grade and become proficient in their operation and programming upon graduation.

Yes - We have partnerships with area manufacturers that support the program by providing field trips to Freshman students, participating in advisory boards, providing employment and training to students under the WBL program with the Dept. of Labor....etc..

Provide classes at night to support the Manufacturing programs at Middlesex Community College in Middletown.

Pre-apprenticeships
When students are hired at certain employers under the WBL program they are also enrolled as a pre-apprentice with the Dept. of Labor. The hours worked count towards their full apprenticeship after they graduate. Also, they get credit for 1,500 hours towards their apprenticeship for their 4 years at Vinal Tech H.S.
